Sunset photos from around the world
Some of my best travel memories were made while I watched the sunset over rivers, mountains or cityscapes around the world. I’m sure that the sunsets I’ve witnessed are pretty much unbeatable, but decided to ask a bunch of other travellers to send in their pics too so that we could put together a mini guide to the ‘best places to watch the sun set around the globe’!
So here goes… the best sunset photos from me & you!
My FAVOURITE place to watch the sun set has got to be Laos – it’s absolutely stunning and I could spend hours just sitting by the river with a Beer Laos pr chilling in my hammock on 4000 Islands and watching it…
Across the Mekong from Don Khon, Laos
Another favourite of ours… ‘Big Sky Country’ as I always refer to it should be top of everyones list when it comes to watching the sun set or sun rise in this part of the world! The red rock of the Outback is the perfect setting and adds to the really stunning views!
Both islands of NZ are beautiful and there is no shortage of places to sit and watch the sun rise over the many mountains, lakes or coastlines.
HONG KONG, CHINA
China again has a magical feel about it, with enchanting sunsets found all over the country! As the sun set over this pic from Hong Kong, you can make out the silhouettes of more and more tiny islands in the distance.
So, those were some of my best sunset pics (I have lots more sun ‘rise’ ones too however!), here are some photos that were sent in by others – many of them from places I still haven’t been!
This pic was sent in by Sarah-Jane, who writes her own travel blog at www.chasingthedonkey.com. She wanted to include a ship in the picture, to highlight the beautiful Croatian coastline that is a favourite among passing cruise ships…
Canada is a country that is right at the top of my bucket list! The landscape looks absolutely stunning and so diverse! This was sent in by Mike Cotton @nomadsontheroad.com
This looks like a beautiful spot! Thanks to Adelina Wong from Packmeto.com for sharing!…
Fiji was one of the places I had planned to visit while over in New Zealand, but time and money unfortunately didn’t allow for that! This stunning photograph marks the end of our guide to the best sunsets around the World…thank you to Carole Terwilliger Meyers for sending this in. Carole writes at www.travelswithcarole.blogspot.com.
Which one was your favourite?
Thanks so much to everyone who sent in their pics! It’s hard to fit in all of them as there really are soo many beautiful places around the world to sit and watch the sun set from.
Feel free to post any links to photos you feel are up there with the best, or share on our Facebook page – we are always up for looking at travel photos to aid us in our routine afternoon ‘daydream session’! 😉
You’ve heard of backpacking, camper-vanning, hiking and horse riding… how about a bit of cycle camping?
Okay, whilst Cordon Bleu may be a bit of an overstatement when it comes to describing our efforts at campervan
