Some of my best travel memories were made while I watched the sunset over rivers, mountains or cityscapes around the world. I’m sure that the sunsets I’ve witnessed are pretty much unbeatable, but decided to ask a bunch of other travellers to send in their pics too so that we could put together a mini guide to the ‘best places to watch the sun set around the globe’!

So here goes… the best sunset photos from me & you!

LAOS

My FAVOURITE place to watch the sun set has got to be Laos – it’s absolutely stunning and I could spend hours just sitting by the river with a Beer Laos pr chilling in my hammock on 4000 Islands and watching it…

The stunning limestone karsts of Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, make a stunning backdrop to any sunset…

AUSTRALIA

Another favourite of ours… ‘Big Sky Country’ as I always refer to it should be top of everyones list when it comes to watching the sun set or sun rise in this part of the world! The red rock of the Outback is the perfect setting and adds to the really stunning views!

NEW ZEALAND

Both islands of NZ are beautiful and there is no shortage of places to sit and watch the sun rise over the many mountains, lakes or coastlines.

HONG KONG, CHINA

China again has a magical feel about it, with enchanting sunsets found all over the country! As the sun set over this pic from Hong Kong, you can make out the silhouettes of more and more tiny islands in the distance.

So, those were some of my best sunset pics (I have lots more sun ‘rise’ ones too however!), here are some photos that were sent in by others – many of them from places I still haven’t been!
