“Remember, remember the 5th of November”. Those of you who aren’t familiar with Bonfire Night in the UK may not have a clue what I’m going on about, so here’s a little background information for you…
On the 5th of November 1605, Guy Fawkes, an English Catholic crusader, was caught in the cellars of Parliament House in London with several dozen barrels of gunpowder during his attempt to blow up the Government. He was subsequently tried as a traitor and sentenced to death, enduring the horrific ‘hung, drawn and quartered’ style execution. The “5th of November” rhyme was created to remind citizens of the punishment that treason will lead to and ever since that year, we have been commemorating the ‘Gunpowder Plot’ with fireworks and bonfires – burning an effigy of Guy Fawkes.
Whilst fireworks on the 5th of November may be an English tradition, there are many other events held in various countries, where the night sky is lit up in spectacular displays of light. So to get us all in the mood for Bonfire Night, we thought we’d share with you a selection of some of our favourite firework photos from around the globe…

A great read and some lovely shots!
Amazing Photos! The colors of fireworks and the patterns are just beautiful to look at!
Thanks for commenting Deej! 🙂 Which Disneyland was your pic taken at? Paris?
They’re great aren’t they! Fireworks are so difficult to take photos of – usually come out blurry for us! I don’t think my DIY fireworks will be quite as spectacular as these…
Beautiful photos 🙂
