Rishikesh

Rishikesh is the place to try white water rafting! There are several different stretches of the river Ganga which offer different experiences, according to the experience and bravery of the visitor. It is a rewarding experience to ride the rapids and survive; of course guides and safety gear will help to ensure this happens.

Ladakh

This area of India is famous for having some of the highest passes in the Himalayas. Ladakh is also a fantastic spot for trying paragliding. Whether experienced or a novice there will be a spot for you to launch from. Gliding gently down from 13,000 feet is an experience of a lifetime!

Chadar Trek

As the name suggests this activity is aimed at those who love to trek. There are several established routes through the Himalayas and it is the best way to appreciate the beauty and wonder of this massive mountain range. The Chadar trek is one of the most difficult; it is nearly forty miles long and rises to nearly eleven thousand five hundred feet. The trek is exceptionally challenging, you will face ice pits, high mountain passes, massive stones blocking your way and even large areas of marshland!

Yak Safari

Ladakh is home to the cold desert and yaks are extremely comfortable in this environment.  Riding the back of a massive yak will give you the opportunity to really explore the Himalayas and experience it in all its natural wonder. They can easily cross the rugged landscape and save you from aching legs!

Auli

In winter the slopes of several of the mountains in the Auli region are covered with fresh snow and offer perfect skiing conditions. The surrounding forests help to keep the chilly wind down to a minimum and the slopes are meticulously maintained; making them perfect for novice or expert skiers.

Mountain Biking

There is an established mountain bike trail which is guaranteed to get your adrenaline flowing.  It follows the high passes from Ladakh to Kullu as well as the highest drivable road in the world. This trail crosses the western side of the Himalayas and offers unrivalled views of nature at its best and worst!

Har Ki Doon Valley

This is a trek that almost any hiker should be able to complete. The valley is cradle shaped and is literally covered in wild Himalayan flowers. The views are truly magnificent and you will also have the opportunity to explore the Garhwal Himalaya, a famous, hidden valley seen as one of the treasures of the Himalayas.

Gulmarg

Gulmarg is the spot to try out the longest and highest cable car in Asia; it is also the second longest and highest in the world! You start at nine thousand feet and rise to over ten thousand feet. The journey will give you the opportunity to see green valleys, wild flower valleys and, of course, the Himalayan mountains.

Ramganga River

Ramganga River is home to the giant Mahseer fish which has become known as India’s tiger in the water. It can grow up to one hundred and ten pounds and will fight to the bitter end. Most anglers will take approximately thirty minutes to wind one in, but the feeling of elation and triumph will last with you for a lifetime.
